A NATION THAT PUTS LIFE, HEALTH, MANKIND AND NOT JUST THE ECONOMY AT THE FOREFRONT, TO FLOURISH EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL AND LUXURious.
A beautiful Italy with a face mask, which keeps its beauty intact. A painting, the one created in these difficult days by the Sardinian artist Jacopo Scassellati, which wants to be a tribute and appreciation to all the people who are in the trenches today in this tough war against the coronavirus. From doctors to nurses, from pharmacists to those who work in grocery stores, all the way to the police forces and transporters.
"In this dramatic moment - explains Jacopo Scassellati, in isolation with his family of ceramists in their home pottery workshop -, I tried to summarize and interpret a collective feeling of a united Italy in the face of pain. Italy, a woman, a mother, who gives herself unconditionally with her heart in front of her children, a container of great hope, summed up in all those people who give themselves in the front line to win a tough battle for salvation. Despite the mask, a symbol of protection against the virus, its beauty is not defaced but enhanced. An Italy that puts life, health, people and not just the economy at the forefront, to flourish even more beautiful and luxuriant ".
Jacopo Scassellati exhibits his works in Italy, France and the United States. From a very young age he was noticed by the art critic Vittorio Sgarbi who has curated some of his exhibitions. Alongside the paintings, the young artist, who grew up in his grandfather's workshop, the ceramist Franco Scassellati, creates extraordinary ceramic sculptures.
